Diigo
I have been beginning to experiment with Diigo and I think this program has revolutionized the web for me. Prior to using Diigo I hated reading online because I felt like I never remembered what I read. I NEED to underline and write notes while I read or else when I return to the article I only have a vague memory of what I read. So I always spent a lot of time and money printing out everything so that I had a paper copy to write on. Now, thanks to Diigo, I can simple read and make notes online and they are saved for the next time I revisit the site. It is wonderful. If only it worked on PDF files as well. What do you think?

I agree. I love using Diigo to read online. I want to learn more about how my notes can turn into conversations by creating a network, though.
I am still confused about exactly how to use Diigo. I was job searching online the other day and decided to use Diigo for my own affairs - to bookmark and make notes, etc. Suddenly, I had about 15 posts from random strangers about my "use of white space" and how google "kicks @$$". Weird. But then I realized I could set it on private.....
I love Diigo too! I used to print out everything I have to read (killing quite a number of trees in the process) but now I'm quite comfortable with reading online because of Diigo. And I agree it'll be lovely if it works on PDF as well.
I haven't come across any sites with notes by others though and it should be very interesting to know others' thoughts on various things I have read.
It will be great if Diigo also works on PDF. I use ScanPDF software to highlight text and to add notes on PDF. Although it does not allow me to make conversation with other people who does not own the tool, it still works for me to organize my thought and people can see my annotation there. Oh.. there is another drawback, it is not free and it costs about $40.
